What Are Flushable Wipes?

Flushable wipes, also known as moist toilet tissue, are pre-moistened personal hygiene wipes designed to provide a cleaner and fresher experience than dry toilet paper alone.

Unlike conventional wet wipes, flushable wipes use specially developed cellulosic substrates that provide sufficient wet strength during use while dispersing more readily in water after disposal. Their flushability depends on the complete finished product—including the substrate, sheet size, formulation and manufacturing process—and should be verified through appropriate testing before related claims are used on the packaging.
